My Pins & Needle In Hand!

Yes I am back….my stitching mojo did a little hiding trick on me whilst I was feeling under the weather, but I’m now fighting fit and back with a needle in hand!

I wanted a small finish to get me back into the stitching groove…so I chose this little beauty…

SDC12140

Shepherd’s Bush “My Pins”

28c Jayne’s Attic Hand-dyed fabric “Rose” – DMC threads

Finished as a pin pillow with ruched ribbon edging

I received this cute pillow from Ruth today for the third round of the Lizzie*Kate Exchange…isn’t it just great…I love the saying and it’s pink so it’s perfect for me!!

SDC12137

I have a couple of new starts…firstly for the weekly L*K stitching night being held at the L*K Lovers blog…I have chosen “Housework” because the saying is so fun…especially for a cleaning obsessive like me!!

SDC12142

Secondly is the weekly TSG SAL over at NCH, I have chosen a non Miss Austen piece this time…it’s called “Pleasant Hill”, I didn’t get too much stitched but at least made a start!

SDC12143

Finally no Elisa posting would be complete without a touch of Ms Kidston….I needed to cheer myself up after my ill fortnight…so with a sale taking place at my favourite store…I just couldn’t resist….

SDC12145

A quiet weekend planned…with some stitching to take place. I hope you all enjoy yours no matter what you do!

Pillow for Pirjo

Pirjo messaged me to let me know that the pillow I sent to her for Round A of the Lizzie*Kate Exchange blog had arrived safely…LK Exchange Rd A 2011
Lizzie*Kate “Valentines”
28c Country French Linen “Cashmere”
GAST & Crescent Colour threads
Finished with a ribbon rose as a lace edged pillow
Knee update…the bruising and pain has now spread down my shin but I have discovered Germolene, which when applied regularly numbs the area…along with lots of painkillers…lol
Had a little walk around the Range today and bought some more storage jars for my kitchen shelves to put “stuff” in! I also got some aperture card blanks and peel off’s and some cupcake design ribbons (I stupidly put them all away before taking piccies).
Did some stitching on my L*K Double Flips over the past two nights and also finished up my piece for the Needlework Haven Monthly Challenge…haven’t decided what to stitch on this evening as yet…I may kit up one of my new Shepherd’s Bush Charts charts and start yet another piece…lol…serial starter…moi?? no never…lmao!!
A child free weekend…so that will be nice…
Hope you all have a great weekend…whatever you do.

Delighted!!

I am so delighted to announce that Angela has agreed that I can continue the Lizzie*Kate Exchange Blog (until she wishes to claim it back!). It seemed such a shame that such a wonderful blog with wonderful stitchers and exchangers should close.
Therefore I hope that you will join me going into 2011, with a new set of exchanges.
If you would like to become or continue to be a member of this blog then please email me at paperfaerie@rocketmail.com with your full name, contact details and blog link.
I look forward to spending time with you all…also once again a HUGE thank you to Angela for entrusting me with her “baby”.

“O Come” Reveal and other news..

Karen messaged me to let me know that my exchange piece I stitched for her as part of the Lizzie*Kate exchange blog had arrived safely. I have used Karen's photo as it was much better than the one I took!

P1010743

Lizzie*Kate “O Come”

Stitched on 28c Brittany Mushroom using DMC threads.

Finished as a pinkeep

I have been busy stitching christmas gifts so alas cannot show any of you them…lol…all other stitching has fallen along the wayside at the moment.

I did receive some nice mail this week, I had pre-ordered the new Cath Kidston “Stitch” book and 2011 diary from Amazon and they arrived…so many lovely cross-stitch and needlepoint project…I’m not sure where to start.

The final bit of news here is that Mark moved in with us last week, we had planned for him to move in early December, but unfortunately he was made redundant from work last Monday, an unfortunate sign of the times, so rather than look for work in Hull, he moved straight over the following day and is busy looking here now, not that there is a lot around but we live in hope!! I am keeping him busy with jobs in the house in the meantime though…teehee!

The kids are with their dad this weekend so we will be sanding and filling in Martha’s bedroom ready for wallpapering and painting.

I hope that you all have a fantastic weekend whatever you do!

Tasty Exchange & The Seaside

This beautiful long cushion from Michele for the Lizzie Kate Exchange blog arrived for me whilst I was on my holidays…Michele has captured me perfectly…I adore these colours together too.

SDC11429

Well we are back from our break by the seaside…the weather was half way kind to us, not beach weather but not woolly jumper weather. We spent a lot of time walking and eating…lol…that’s the thing about the seaside…too many tempting foods..fish & chips, waffles, ice-cream, seafood, candy floss…I succumbed to all bar one!

We did have a bit of a panic on Wednesday when a wasp decided to sting Martha…poor little mite was screaming so badly, he finger swelled up to 3 times the size and her hand was all red. We drove to the nearest pharmacy and the lovely man gave (sold) us some Piriton for her, she was still hysterically crying…I also gave her Calpol and baby Ibuprofen and after 2 hours of screaming she finally zonked out for 2 hours and woke up perfectly fine and back to her old self.

We took her to a lovely play farm on Thursday where she could feed and pet the animals, she loved the donkey, goats and sheep but the pigs were ever so smelly…lol!!

SDC11415 SDC11414

The farm also had an indoor and outdoor play area with sandpit, climbing frames, ride on tractors..

SDC11421 SDC11422

One of the evenings we went to Scarborough to do a bit of retail therapy…just as we arrived the heavens opened…we sat under the covered seating area and I got a great picture of the rainbow over the harbour..

SDC11413

Isaac also had a great time with Grandma & Grandpa, he did miss his Mummy and little sister a bit…he did admit!!

I will be back later in the week with a knitting finish and the photos of my Mum’s birthday gift…

Two Exchanges for Lisa

I received Lisa as my partner for 2 exchanges this month, so I stitched them both and sent them as one package to Australia.

The first piece is for the Seasonal Exchange

SDC11292

SanMan Original’s May Newsletter Freebie

28c Jobelan evenweave

DMC Threads

Finished as a beaded edged pillow

The second piece is for the Lizzie *Kate Exchange

SDC11290

Lizzie*Kate “Liberty” Design Booklet

28c pastel blue Jobelan evenweave

DMC Threads

Finished as a pinkeep

I have been busy around the house and garden again the past weekend. Mark and I put venetian blinds up in the lounge and kitchen, there are 2 windows in each room, so that took some time as I had to trim them all too.

I also planted up a large pot to put by the front door, unfortunately the past tenants had grafitti’d the brickwork at one side of the front door, cleaning has not brought it off, so I have put up willow trellis and planted a climbing variegated ivy in the pot and started the climber up it, along with some lavender and violas, so within a few months the “artwork” should be covered by lovely foliage.

I have never really been into gardening before but the planting bug has hit me…I suppose it’s different when the garden is your own!!

I have used some of my PayPal funds from my recent chart sale to purchase a pretty design and threads for stitching for Martha’s birthday..I am using a piece of hand-dyed fabric, DMC and Crescent Colour threads. I may have to pop a few stitches in it this evening…!!

It’s Isaac's sports day tomorrow, let’s hope the rain stays away and the sun shines for them…I promise to take some pictures!

Have fun in the sunshine

A PIF, An Exchange & A Happy Dance

Good morning on this drizzly damp Saturday, a good post day here, firstly the postman arrived with a parcel for me this morning from Chris, I had forgotten that I was one of her PIF recipients and I opened the parcel to reveal this gorgeous scissor pouch, scissors and beaded fob all in my favourite girly colour “PINK”

SDC11165

One side of the pouch has my initial and the other side a gorgeous Quaker motif, it’s finished beautifully and the scissor fob has a gorgeous bee charm. Thank you so much Chris I just love it.

SDC11164

Conny has messaged me to let me know that the replacement exchange has arrived for the Lizzie*Kate Exchange Blog.

SDC11162

This design is L*K “Spring-ily Boxer” which I stitched on “Count on Me” “Perfect Pastels Green” 28c Jubilee using the recommended DMC threads, I used my own mini heart buttons to personalise it and finished it as a long cushion with a matching green ribbon.

SDC11161

Finally my Happy Dance, I mentioned in a previous post that I had started stitching The Sweetheart Tree’s “Opalescent Heart” for my Mum as a Mother’s day gift, I finished finishing it up last night…or actually at 12.34am this morning…my eyes were boggling with the beaded edging but I wanted to complete this so I can then get on with completing my LHN “Pear Tree”

SDC11176

I stitched this piece on 28c jobelan in “Mushroom” with the recommended DMC threads using Mill Hill beads in frosted pink, metallic pink and miscellaneous pearl beads from my stash.

SDC11171

I backed it with the same fabric and used the metallic beads to edge it too…The design appeared in the GOSM June 2007.

SDC11175

I have stuck to my rotation again this week, my JN and CB SALs are coming along well, I want to complete my LHN ornie and make a start on the next one.

I have also made a start on knitting my scarf…it’s looking great, I like knitting as you can just pick it up and do a few rows when you have a spare few moments and before long you are making good progress.

A quiet weekend here…not really sure one what I am going to do really, as long as I fit in some stitching then I will be happy.

Hope you all have a great one whatever you do.

Gorgeous gift and a finish…

Look what arrived in the post for me this morning..this gorgeous exchange piece arrived from Conny for the Lizzie*Kate exchange, isn’t it just divine, the stitching is mounted on a wooden heart to make an exquisite hanging ornament….Conny thank you so much I adore it :0)

SDC11144

SDC11141

I have a finish too share with you too…

SDC11142

SDC11143I finished stitching Carol’s design “Sew Pink” last Thursday but this is the first decent light I have had to photograph it.  It is stitched on 28c Count on Me evenweave in “Rose” using Dinky Dyes silk in “Tinkerbell”. I haven’t decided how to finish this piece yet….I may simply frame it for my bedroom as I have so many pillows now.

I am veering from my rota tonight as I have stitched enough of my JN SAL piece for this month…so a WIP or UFO may get an airing…lol

As always a big thank you for reading and commenting on my words and pictures, I really appreciate the time you spend.

Happy 2010 (lots of photos)

Gosh it doesn’t seem long since we were celebrating the millennium and here we are 10 years later…where do the years go :0(

Well like the rest of the UK we are blessed or unblessed (your choice) with snow…here are a few photos I took this morning I went out in my crocs and my feet disappeared that is how deep it is here…

SDC11106 SDC11104 SDC11105

My poor bird bath is looking a bit worse for wear, but I have been putting bird food out over the past few weeks to ensure our little feathered friends have their lunch!

We had a quiet new year, like many I think…here are a couple of photos of the kids for you to see..

 SDC11081 SDC11083  SDC11097

SDC11098

I went shopping over the weekend and bought a few little treats for me in the sales..SDC11111

This box was a bargain at £8 from Dunelm Mill and is perfect for all my current WIP’s and SALs….SDC11112 This one I just had to have…it is on my stitching cabinet but haven’t decided what is going in it yet…another bargain £5 from the Range..SDC11107  SDC11109

Stitching wise…I have completed my exchange piece for the Lizzie*Kate blog but cannot show a picture of that yet. I have made a start on my Just Nan SAL piece and my “Cheryl’s Bouquet” SAL piece and am enjoying them. My second LHN ornie chart arrived from DSL this morning so I will kit that up ready to make a start. I intend to work to a rota during the week, leaving weekends to stitch on what I fancy, I don’t get alot of stitching done on a weekend as Mark is usually here and we are out and about doing stuff.

Well it is snowing again here…so wrap up and stay warm…
